Oleic Acid in Neem Oil

Oleic acid is one of the chief fatty acids occurring naturally in Neem oil as fats and oils. It is an odorless, colorless oil, although commercial samples may be yellowish. Oleic acid ranges from 25% to 58% in Natural Pure Organic Neem Oil.

Uses of Oleic Acid

Oleic acid is a mono-unsaturated omega-9 fatty acid found in Neem oil as well as various animal and vegetable sources.

  • Triglyceride esters of oleic acid comprise the majority of olive oil.
  • Oleic acid is used as an excipient in pharmaceuticals and as an emulsifying or solubilizing agent in aerosol products.
  • It may hinder the progression of adrenoleukodystrophy, a fatal disease that affects the brain and adrenal glands, and it may help boost memory.
  • Oleic acid may also be responsible for the hypotensive (or blood pressure reducing) effects of olive oil.

Health effects of Oleic Acid in Neem Oil

Oleic acid is a common monounsaturated fat in human diet. Monounsaturated fat consumption has been associated with decreased low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, and possibly increased high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.

However, its ability to raise HDL is still debated. Oleic acid may be responsible for the hypotensive (blood pressure reducing) effects of olive oil. Adverse effects also have been documented, however, since both oleic and monounsaturated fatty acid levels in the membranes of red blood cells have been associated with increased risk of breast cancer, although the consumption of oleate in olive oil has been associated with a decreased risk of breast cancer.

Organic Essential Oils

Organic essential oils are liquid distilled from the leaves, flowers, or other parts of a plant – in effect capturing the plant’s “essence” in a highly concentrated form. Essential oils are distributed in a much purer form than perfumes or other products that are derived from plants but include artificial components. Even a small amount of these potent oils are said to have important therapeutic and health benefits, depending on the plant used.
Organic essential Oil

Benefits of Essential Oils

Essential oils are generally used in some form of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy, as the name implies, involves controlled exposure to some particular scent in order to promote health or emotional well-being. Some practitioners of alternative medicine also advocate the consumption of essential oils or their use as topical treatments for certain illnesses. Essential oils have a wide variety of applications. Some may be used as antiseptics, while others are associated with emotional or mental well-being and other effects.

Why Use Organic Oils?

Essential oils may be classified broadly into two kinds: organic and non-organic. Organic essential oils are derived from plants grown without pesticides or other artificial additives. Many practitioners believe that organic oils are markedly superior in a number of ways: their quality, scent, and benefits. Organic oils may be more expensive than non-organic alternatives, since only a small amount of essential oil can be produced from a relatively large quantity of plant matter. However, the benefits of organic essential oils are worth the price in many cases; this is also true of other organic products, which may be purer, more potent, and generally healthier than non-organics.

 Types of Essential Oils

There are as many types of essential oils as there are plants. Essential oils may come from a huge variety of trees, flowers, fruits, and other plant products both typical and unfamiliar. Some of the most popular essential oils used in aromatherapy include peppermint, ginger, lavender, and the oils of citrus fruit. The popularity of an essential oil is usually linked to its therapeutic effects. There are also regional considerations; areas where oranges are grown may offer more ready access to oil of orange, for example.

  • Geranium Oil
  • Ginger Essential Oil
  • Fibers & Fiber Plants
  • And Others

Uses For Essential Oils

There is a huge variety of uses for essential oils. While much aromatherapy focuses on controlling negative emotions and heightening positive emotions, there is a broad range of applications, including sinus relief, headache relief, and relief from arthritis. Certain essential oils are even used as aphrodisiacs! With so many applications, it’s no surprise that there is a large community in America and elsewhere made up of people who use essential oils for health on a regular basis.

  • Essential Oils and Aromatherapy for Natural Health.
  • Common Cold Remedies.
  • Essential Oils for Arthritis.
  • Essential Oils for Pain Relief.

Cocoa Butter as it is

This aromatic solid butter is pressed from the roasted seeds of the Cacao tree. It will soften at body temperature and adds a rich, creamy, and thick consistency to lotions, soaps, creams, and toiletry items.
Cocoa butter contains natural antioxidant Vitamin E, as well as a number of other vitamins and minerals. Cocoa butter is mainly used as a thickening agent and is a common ingredient in lipsticks, soaps, and emollient creams.

MAKING OF COCOA BUTTER

Cocoa butter is made by pressing ground, milled cacao nibs to make a cacao paste. This process separates the thick and creamy butter from the fibrous powder.
Interestingly, cacao butter and powder, separated at birth, are reunited to make chocolate. That is, most of the ingredients for chocolate are present in the cacao bean in the first place, but need to go their separate ways in order to come together.

Cocoa butter has a low melting point, and often melts in transit to higher temperature states during the summer months. Fat bloom is a common occurrence in cocoa butter and should not be a cause for alarm.

Unrefined Cocoa butter is not deodorized and is lightly odoriferous, which will scent your products in moderation. Suitable for food and cosmetic use and makes an exquisite ingredient within culinary products (especially chocolate).
As an unrefined cosmetic butter it may contain natural sediments which will appear on the surface of the oil after the butter is melted. Straining the oil through muslin cloth is recommended, based on the product that is being formulated.

What is Shea Butter?

Shea butter is basically an organic, natural cum essential oil from the seeds of the fruit of the renowned Shea tree also known as the Karite Tree. It has long been known to be used in Africa and as mentioned in our prior post, essential in hair and skin nourishment thus a super-food for skin and hair rejuvenation.
Skin Care shea butter

One of the element that differentiates Shea butter from other skin moisturizer is the fact that its compound moisturizer is similar as that secreted by the human skin sebaceous gland, thus allows easy penetration and technically rejuvenates the skin as if it secretes same compound itself.

In many of our present cosmetic products for skin and hair, we have heard a lot about the effect of vitamin A and E aiding in skin Mal-nourishment, wrinkles, eczema, and other possible skin defect from deterioration conditions. What we never know in essence is the source of these essential vitamins. Behold Organic Shea butter offers these vitamins naturally with no chemical additive to diminish its activities thus naturally restoring its effect back on the skin.

Vitamin A in Organic Shea Butter is essential while improving varying skin conditions like blemishes, wrinkles, eczema, dermatitis and others. It has also been known to possess properties while treating skin allergies, insect bites, sunburns, frostbites, and accelerates wound healing.

Vitamin E as we know is quite a powerful antioxidant in itself. It has been described as effective in anti-aging, preventing the harsh effect of the sun as well as anti-free radical agent, assisting in neutralizing radical cells which most often can lead to cancerous cells if not abated. The positive effect on increasing the micro-circulation is certain, which results in increased blood supply to and from the skin.
